Connect to Trello

Before you can begin using Trello on VOGSY you must do the following:

  1. Link VOGSY and Trello to enable collaboration between the two tools.

  2. Connect VOGSY to the Trello workspace that contains the boards you will link to. Also, if you create a board from VOGSY, that board will be added to the Trello workspace.

  3. Map VOGSY employees to their corresponding accounts in Trello.

The person who sets up the integration must be a Trello Workspace administrator.
You must have the Support Staff role in VOGSY and the Workspace Admin role in Trello to complete the procedure.
  1. Go to the back office and find the Third Party Integrations section.

  2. Click Integrate your client collaboration system. The Connect to your software provider page opens.

  3. Select Trello from the client collaboration software dropdown list and click Save. The Trello connection setup page opens.

  4. Click Authorize VOGSY for Trello. The Trello authorization page opens.

  5. Click Log in. You will be redirected to Trello’s login page.

  6. Log into Trello and a second Trello authorization page will open.

  7. Click Allow. You will be returned to the Trello connection setup page.

You are now connected to Trello and have two new options: Re-authorize Trello or Disconnect from Trello.

There are also new Trello options in the Third Party Integrations section:

  • Trello Mappings–Employees. Go here to map your employees’ VOGSY accounts to their corresponding Trello accounts.

  • Trello Settings. Go here to connect VOGSY to your Trello workspace. This workspace will be the source of the Trello boards that you import into a VOGSY project. If you create a Trello board from a project, it will be added to this workspace in Trello.

  • Trello connection setup. Go here to re-connect to Trello or to disconnect from Trello.

Connect VOGSY to a Trello Workspace

You must have the Support Staff role in VOGSY and the Workspace Admin role in Trello to complete the procedure.
  1. Go to the back office and find the Third Party Integrations section.

  2. Click Trello Settings. The Trello settings page opens.

  3. Start typing the name of the Trello workspace that you want to connect to into the Search workspaces field. A list of potential workspaces will appear.

  4. Select the appropriate workspace and click Save.

Match employees to their Trello accounts

Before your employees can collaborate in Trello, VOGSY must be able to connect their VOGSY accounts with their Trello accounts.

You must have the Support Staff role in VOGSY and the Workspace Admin role in Trello to complete the procedure.
  1. Go to the back office and find the Third Party Integrations section.

  2. Click Trello Mappings–Employees. The Trello: Employee mapping page opens to display a list of your employees that it obtained from the Employees back office application.

  3. To connect an employee to their Trello account, click pencil blue beside the Trello Member search field. VOGSY will display a list of possible matches from Trello.

  4. Select the matching account and click check blue.

    If there is no match, click close thick to cancel the search. Go to Trello and make sure the employee has an account there.
