Timesheet

Use this page to configure how VOGSY handles timesheets.

Timesheet locking

Setting a date in the Lock Date field prevents employees from doing the following:

  • Editing any time entries for a day that falls on or before the Lock Date

  • Adding new time entries for a day that falls on or before the Lock Date.

These restrictions do not apply to employees with the Support Staff role.

This way you can be sure that the time entries for the days that fall on or before the Lock Date are unchanged.

Timesheet rounding

This option is most applicable if you use the timesheet timer to submit your time entries. By default time sheet entries are rounded to the nearest quarter hour. For example, if you stop the timer after working an hour and seventeen minutes, the timer will submit an entry of 1.50.

If you need your time entries to be more precise, clear this checkbox and the timer will submit the time as is, rounded to two decimal places. For example, if you stop the time after working one hour and seventeen minutes, the timer will submit an entry of 1.28.

Prefill timesheet with tasks

In VOGSY you can log time on project activities and tasks. Some companies prefer to have VOGSY prefill an employee’s current timesheet with that employee’s planned project tasks. This helps the employee to see from the timesheet which tasks are planned for the week.

However, prefilling the timesheet with these tasks, which were assigned but not yet clocked against, might lead to an unnecessarily long timesheet, depending on the number of tasks assigned to the employee. Therefore we recommend that if you do not track time against these tasks, do not add them to the timesheet.

To prevent prefilling timesheets with tasks, unselect the Prefill timesheet with due project tasks checkbox. Tasks that you actually clock time against will still be added to the timesheet.
